We are looking at how we can improve access for our patients. We know it is frustrating to have to keep ringing back.
These are available to book 4 weeks in advance, they are for any on-going medical conditions and if you need to see your usual GP. Please book as soon as you come out of your appointment.
We have three ways of booking online appointment: NHS App, My GP App and Patient Access (you will need to be registered to use this service). Please log on and try it as it saves you and us a call. You can book anytime, request medication and view your medical history.
On the Day Appointments
In order to improve our patient care, from 26th February, we will be trialling a new system for booking urgent appointments where the problem needs assessment that same day. You will be asked to provide some information on the nature of the problem when you call, so that the receptionist can book you in with the appropriate clinician. In the afternoon, if you need to be seen by a doctor on the same day, you will first receive a phone call from a GP. We hope that this system will allow us to manage the increasing demand based on clinical priority.
Changes to 11am Phone Calls
If you ring in the morning at 8am for an on the day appointment, you will be asked what the appointment is for so the GP can assess the clinical priority. For these appointments we will endeavour to give you a morning appointment. Once these are full, you will revert to an afternoon call back from the GP to try and fit you in based on clinical need.
