Practice Management and Administration
Mr Mark Foster
The practice team is led by our Practice Manager Mr Mark Foster who has been in this role since 2020.
Mark is assisted by the Office Manager who has a dedicated team of IT, secretarial and administrative staff who are able to help you with any administrative query or if you have any problems with the way the practice is run.
Mark is responsible for the management of the practice team, our premises and HR.
Mrs Kamal Bahia
Strategic Business Manager
Kamal is now taking on the role of Strategic Business Manager which encompasses her strategic direction for Burdwood and representation as Executive Director on Kennet Primary Care Network (PCN).
Kamal will continue her practice manager Lead role which covers the lead for Newbury, Chair of Patient and Public Engagement for Health and Wellbeing Board, Deputy Chair of Patient Panel and attendance at Local Management Team. She will also continue her GP IT role for Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Group.
Kamal is now GP Connect Project Manager in a 6 month post to try and deploy GP connect, linking our computer systems to help us view records for enhanced access, look at 111 direct booking via SCAS and also a shared appointment book for enhanced access.
Lizzie is the office manager. She is responsible for finance, along with the day to day running of the office, administration of cervical smears, medicals, insurance claims and petty cash.
Nicky is the IT Manager who looks after all our software and hardware IT issues, clinical searches, quarterly reporting on enhanced services and all IT training.
Patient Services Manager
Clair is our Patient Services Manager; she is there to assist you, the patient, if you have any problems with the way the Practice is run. Clair also keeps the information on the surgery notice boards up to date.
Becky is one of our Prescriptions Administrators. She is responsible for prescriptions and new patient registrations.
Katie is one of our Prescriptions Administrators. She is responsible for prescriptions, new patient registrations and the filing of electronic clinical letters.
Hannah joined us in August 2018 as Personal Assistant to the Practice Manager but has recently taken on extra duties and has been appointed as our Administration Manager.
GP Assistant / Receptionist
Sue provides support to the GPs and Patients. When she is not undertaking her admin duties, which include processing new patient registrations and applications to our Online Services, Sue works on Reception.
Our medical secretaries Yvonne and Jan, deal with consultant’s correspondence, making specialist referrals and assisting with choose and book appointments. They also liaise with other health care staff and handle patients’ queries.

Our reception staff are highly trained; without them it would be impossible to run the Practice.
Our receptionists are responsible for the day to day running of the reception area. They manage the smooth running of patients coming into/out of the surgery and also deal with booking appointments and answering queries.
Please remember they are not a barrier between you and the doctor, but work as part of the Practice team and will ask you only strictly necessary questions.
