Carer’s Rights Day Event

The theme – Supporting people to prepare for the future.
Come along to this free event for information and advice and find out how to get the help and support you are entitled to from:
Crossroads, Reading and West Berkshire Carers Hub, Volunteer Centre West Berkshire Village Agents, Age UK and West Berkshire
Council’s (WBC) Adult Social Care team supported by a member from WBC’s Financial Assessment and Charging team who can
advise on the financial assessment process only within West Berkshire Council.

From 10.30am*, an expert in elder law from Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, will be leading a presentation and discussion on the legal
issues facing the elderly providing practical guidance around Powers of Attorney, Deputyships and Wills.
From 11.30am*, a Financial Planner, will lead a presentation on ‘Preparing for care costs in the future’. Following both
presentations there will be a questions and answers session.
